Innovative new battery chain saw

The MSA 160 C-BQ is the first STIHL cordless chain saw with an outstanding combination of weight, power and performance. With new low-vibration and low kickback 1/4’’ PM3 saw chain and a 10” or 12” guide bar, this saw is ideal for property maintenance, horticulture, cutting firewood and sawing work in enclosed areas. Battery and charger sold separately.

    • QuickStop Super Chain Brake (Q)

      The additional braking system for extra safety. Users can trigger the chain brake directly at the rear handle. The chain stops in seconds whenever the user lets go of the rear handle and whenever there is sufficiently strong kickback or when the front hand guard is activated. This unique safety feature ensures even more user protection in all working positions.

    • CONTROL HANDLE

      FOR OPTIMISED ERGONOMICS. Thanks to the soft components on the control handle, your work tool sits comfortably in the hand and allows you to work efficiently.

    • TWO-HANDED OPERATION

      ENSURES COMFORTABLE WORK. Your STIHL chainsaw has an ergonomically shaped handle and a comfortable rear control handle with soft components. Thanks to this two-handed operation, you can work comfortably, effortlessly and safely in all positions.

    • STIHL Chain Quick Tensioning (B)

      The STIHL chain quick tensioning system (B) makes it very easy to tension the chain. Just release the sprocket cover and turn the knob to set the optimum tension. No tools needed.

    • EC ENGINE

      LOW-MAINTENANCE AND EFFICIENT. Thanks to its compact design, low weight and high efficiency, the EC engine enables you to work in an energy efficient manner. This engine also has a long service life.

    • Toolless filler cap

      The tank can be filled quickly and easily using the toolless filler cap.

    • Lithium-ion battery (sold separately)

      Powerful lithium ion battery pack compatible with all STIHL cordless machines. The battery pack can be charged several hundred times without the capacity decreasing significantly. No memory effect and constant power while in operation. Allows operation for long periods, just like a gas machine. Available in two performance classes: AP 100, and AP 300. Includes a charge level indicator with four LEDs for indicating the charge level. Rechargeable with STIHL charger AL 100, AL 300 or AL 500

    • Charger (sold separately)

      Three chargers are available: the AL 100 standard charger, the AL 300 quick charger. or the AL 500 Elite charger
